Gracious Lady

2010 Gracious Lady
This years Gracious Lady award goes to Gwen Johnson.  This award is given in honor of Lady Vestey to someone who shows the spirit of our own Gracious Lady, Lady Vestey.

Entrepreneur of the Year Award
 Dr. Gary Crook  has established an award in memory of long time merchant, Larry McCord. Pat McCord will present this award before the parade.
In 2006 the award went to Larry's son Shannon McCord.
In 2007 the award was given to Carmen Bruening.
In 2008 the award went to Arlen and Valerie Mickelsen.
In 2009 the award went to Bill and Rita Blauvelt.
In 2010 TBA.



Superior Persons Awards
 The Superior Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors present awards that recognize local community members who demonstrate the quality of active participation in civic or community activities using the following guidelines:

  • Volunteer service to the community
  • Involvement in citizenship or character building organizations
  • Participation in community programs and activities
  • Leadership to motivate others to action that will benefit the community.

Superior Persons awards goes to  persons  for there volunteerism to the community. Superior Persons for this last year are Dr. Timothy Blecha and his wife LaVeta.

 Previous recipients who also have unselfishly given so much of their time and talent for the betterment of the community are: Beverly Beavers, Louise Henderson, Carlita Erickson,  David Barnard, Elmer and Maxine Rempe, Beth Bohling, Karen Christiancy and Pat McCord " in memory of Larry McCord" James and Lance Teachworth  family and Dan Scott. Chuck Bridwell, Susan Peterson, Dwayne "Buck" Bostelman and LaMira Mueller. Dick and Nancy Fish, Beth Siebecker, John Price Jr., and Mary Ann Dean,Ronda Edwards, Cory Kopsa, Mike Fenimore, and Harold and Dixie Whitney.

The Superior Ambassadors invite Superior residents to participate in the Selection process, in the hope that their involvement will foster an awareness of the importance of citizenship qualities among the community. A nomination form must be completed and returned to the Superior Chamber of Commerce in order to participate in the selection.
